Abi Bridge

Abi Bridge is 21 years old and her first balloon meet was Sackville, 2012, where she learnt ballooning could be something she enjoyed and participate in.

Making friends at Sackville opened up her view of ballooning, which led to her gaining her Private Pilot’s Lincence in May 2016 – competing in her first event, the Nationals, a few months later. Since her first taste of competition ballooning Abi has been studying for her degree at the University of Liverpool, experiencing very itchy feet every time a flyable slot comes around which she is unable to take advantage of.

Abi is fortunate enough to have a balloon, and the ballooning world, at her fingertips thanks to her father, Ian Bridge and his love of ballooning. She enjoys the many different experiences ballooning hands to her: serentity, adrenaline, social, but also seclusion from life on the ground.

Abi has also been given the opportunity to crew, navigate and be part of her friend’s teams here in the UK, and abroad. She has enjoyed this a great deal and hopes she can give her crew and team mates a similar, enjoyable experience.
