Worlds 2018 Episode 1: Our first training flight!
WELCOME to our special summer series! This is the first episode of the World Championships which are being hosted in Groß-Siegharts, Austria! We took to the skies for the first time to start practicing, which means getting used to the geographical location of the event and to practice those all important marker throws!

Worlds 2018 - Episode 3: Final Training Flight!
This video is about Episode 3: Final Training Flight! We went to the general briefing and the opening ceremony! Training is now over, pilots rest up as they head into the first competition flight in the morning. The weather looks good for the first few days of the championship and we’re hoping to bring you as much action as possible. There are 105 competing pilots here at the world championships and we know we didn’t quite cover everybody’s introductions in this video, we apologise we didn’t cover everyone, we did as many as possible!
Episode 4 - First & Second Competition Flights!
We’re here to show you EPISODE 4!! The World Hot Air Ballooning Championships are officially under way! Today we witnessed some incredible marker drops from pilots of all nations! We got as much on camera as possible! The mornings flight consisted of 5 tasks and the evenings consisted of only one. To see the tasks sheets and met for each flight please follow the links below.
Episode 5: Third and Fourth Comp Flights
Today we witnessed the third & fourth competition flights! From minimum distance double drops to fly on’s in the sky, pilots are being tested to the extremes here at the World Hot Air Ballooning Championships 2018!
Episode 6: Fifth & Sixth Comp Flights
Today we had a technical morning flight with 2 time dependent tasks and a long 3D shape task (meaning the crew found some interesting ways to pass the time) and a quick evening flight!
Episode 7: Seventh & Eighth Comp Flights
Things are certainly heating up here at the World’s in Austria! With the GB Team doing tremendously well! Today we had another technical morning with timing being key and a quick flight this evening!
Episode 8: Ninth & Tenth Comp Flights!
This morning pilots faced a tough 5 task flight which brought big changes to the overall positions! The evening flight consisted of a single task which also made a big impact on final results. COME ON United Kingdom!
Episode 9: Eleventh & Twelfth Comp Flights!
Today we had two cancelled flights, some pranks, some REAL sleep and some camaraderie from the UK back home. COME ON TEAM GB!!!
Episode 10 - Our Champion!
We arrived at the final flight briefing and the flight was cancelled, the celebrations begun straight away! The team headed out for a private lunch and celebratory beer before heading to the closing ceremony, awards and after party!
